Too Busy Not To Pray

I’m continuing my study of prayer as a Christian…

And as a minister…

I began the study looking at the Book, Praying the Bible…

And now I continue looking at a popular book by Bill Hybels titled, “Too Busy Not to Pray.”

Before I begin this interaction with the book, I do feel a call to begin doing two things…

1) write out my prayers at least sometimes…
2) begin a spiritual journal.

There is a power and depth of spirituality in our preaching and our ministry..and our depth of Christian experience that can only come from Prayer…

I continue this study, not just reading, but implementing…

Praying the Bible

There are a number of methods of prayer.

Some are very structured and some are less structured.

Perhaps one of the most popular ones is to use The Lord’s Prayer as a model or template.

This kind of gets us to thinking about using the Scripture as a method to help us pray.

Roughly such a method would be to read a scripture devotionally and then pray according or with that scripture.

Donald Whitney’s book “Praying the Bible” provides a method that follows such a method…

His approach is to:

First take a scripture and then read it…seek to understand what it is being said.

Then pray using the words of that Scripture to help lead you…

Evaluating A Sermon Outline Part 2

OK…the sermon you got your eye on is one sermon and not multiple ones…

That’s cool…
