Educational Training
Elder Cox is a trained software developer and minister. His emphasis in Computer Science is Software Engineering. His emphasis in his M. Div work is homiletics where he has written on analyzing the celebration of the sermon, sermon titles, and sermon planning.
Present Ministry
Elder Cox's present ministry has a strong web focus. He currently is the Web Pastor for Soul Preaching [1] which is seeks to celebrate the African American tradition. He is also the author of You Can Preach, Last Minute Preacher's Guide, and The Sermon Title Handbook.
He is soon to release a basic preaching course for on the web. In addition he is in the process of helping a several ministries of various denominations move online. His dual training of Ministry and Computers is helping him in this ministry.
Previous Ministry
He has worked for 18 of the last 20 years as an Elder in Seventh-day Adventist churches in Alabama, Florida, and Tennessee. This has been part-time work in that he is a full time Software Engineer holding a MS in Computer Science. In addition, he has been an intern for the African American Lectionary Project [2] and has been a technical consultant for many sites including The Call And Response. [3]
Ordination Status
In 1992, he was ordained to the office of Elder at the Oakwood College Church in Huntsville Alabama.

Married to Rutesha and father of Sherman III.
